My name is Zafeira and I am a mathematician. My research interests focus on gender and broader social inequalities in mathematics education. I am particularly interested in how social conditions and personal experiences shape the learning process and influence students’ relationships with mathematics.
I joined the Rhizo-eduscapes research group thanks to Ms. Stathopoulou and my engagement with ethnomathematics. For me, this project is a valuable opportunity to explore knowledge not as something neutral or fixed, but as something closely connected to everyday experience, cultural context, and each learner’s personal history.
In my free time, I enjoy gardening and taking care of flowers — activities that help me stay in tune with the rhythm of nature. I love the sea and musicals, for the way they combine language, music, and expression
