Her research interests concern linguistic diversity and literacy\/meaning-making. Specifically, regarding linguistic diversity, ES focuses on linguistic diversity in Greece, the relationship between bilingualism and learning, translanguaging, and teaching through a second language. Regarding literacy, ES focuses on multiliteracies, meaning-making, literacy experiences with different text types, and the multiple (re)interpretations of culturally emblematic texts (e.g., The Odyssey).<br \/>\nShe has long been involved in the education of bilingual students in Greek schools and has recently expanded into issues of meaning-making, children&#8217;s literacy, and the schooling of Roma children. Independently or in collaboration, Eleni Skourtou has published scientific articles in Greek and international scientific journals, edited collective volumes in Greece and abroad, and written expert reports for the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of the Interior (through the Institute for Migration Policy \/ IMEPO).
