I grew up on the island of Kalymnos, where I\u2019m originally from, in what was (at least seemingly) a monolingual and monocultural environment. My first encounters with interculturality came through literature. From a very young age, I always had a book in hand\u2014every day, and often all day. That\u2019s how I developed a deep connection to written language and reading.<br \/>\nI speak Greek, English, and French. During my studies, I also attended Arabic classes, although I haven\u2019t yet managed to speak it, even at a basic level.<br \/>\nMy first intercultural experience was in the context of the ACTinPRISON research project, where we visited the Youth Detention Center of Kassavetia on a weekly basis, along with Volos Linguistic Landscape Research Group, a group created by our professor Roula Kitsiou, who opened for us new ways of thinking about intercultural communication. This experience in the prison was really transformative for me &#8211; it shifted many things for me, offering an experience of intercultural communication. At the same time, I engaged with non-formal education, as well as with language, mathematical, and digital literacies.<br \/>\nI\u2019m incredibly excited about the notion of rhizome and my introduction to the philosophical work of Deleuze and Guattari, and I love the theoretical explorations of philosophical ideas, so the project Rhizo-\u0395duscapes is also for me a philosophical (cartographic) journey.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":287,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"class_list":["post-308","omada","type-omada","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/rhizoeduscapes.gdia.uth.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/omada\/308","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/rhizoeduscapes.gdia.uth.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/omada"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/rhizoeduscapes.gdia.uth.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/omada"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/rhizoeduscapes.gdia.uth.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/287"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/rhizoeduscapes.gdia.uth.gr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=308"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
